387th District Court

Judge Oscar M. Telfair III was elected on November 5, 2024, to the 387^th District Court in Fort Bend County, Texas.

The 387^th District Court is a court specializing in hearing family law cases such as – divorce, custody disputes, enforcement actions, Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) cases, termination and adoption suits, name changes, domestic violence, and paternity actions.

Judge Telfair graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1982 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Judge Telfair continued his studies and obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1985. After graduating law school, Judge Telfair began his legal career as a tax and corporate attorney at Marathon Oil Company, first in Ohio then in Houston, Texas.  In 1994, he opened his own law practice, The Law Office of Oscar M. Telfair III, P.C., also known as “The Telfair Firm” and worked as a solo practitioner operating a general practice concentrating in areas of law including family, civil, criminal, tax, real estate, wills and probate, and commercial.
